Rise and Shine!

There are times, even in a super hero world, that we find ourselves feeling a little less heroic and a little more human. Case in point: The first thing I heard this morning was the last thing I wanted to hear - my alarm. For those of you who don't know, (no Cap, this does not include you) I am an avid snoozer. In fact, I bring snoozing to a whole new level! You would think that a Wonder Woman such as myself would spring out of bed ready to tackle the day but my constant pounding of the snooze button goes to prove the contrary. Sadly, after a 50 minute pounding, I surrender myself to the fact that I must get up and face the day.
I quickly forget who I am and what my mission is - to Rise and Shine! As I ponder the thought, I realize what that really means. God, the Ultimate Hero, gave me this life and he wants me to Rise and Shine my Light. Regardless of how I feel, he has given me a gift and I have the privilege of sharing it with others. That's my MISSION. So, even when I don't exactly feel like a beacon - God gives me the power to Shine. So put on your shades folks, I'm on a mission!

OOPS!

Yea, I know, blogging is SUPPOSED to be a daily glimpse into the life of the Blogee so I apologize for my lackadaisical approach. The last few days have been filled with the three F's - family, food, and fun. The Fantastic Four and I have had a wonderful time visiting friends, bowling, eating out, picking berries and generally enjoying life and each other. I am so blessed to have the people God has placed around me. I promise to keep everyone updated on our adventures and misadventures from now on so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Even SUPEHEROS get stitches

The original plan was to go home, relax, put my feet up and vegetate a while before dinner. What with the lack of sleep after adventures with the Wonderdog the night before, I was ready to call it an early night to catch up on some much needed shut eye. NOT SO FAST!
I developed a slight headache which snowballed into a throbbing headache.
Captain America met a fellow hero for an unplanned dinner date so I bowed out of preparing a large feast for all and settled for tuna casserole prepared by our middle hero (what a sweet boy - teenagers get a bad rap). He had pity on his exhausted matriarch.
After having a plate of the yummy goodness, I settled in for an extended nap. NOT SO FAST! Our youngest hero, Mr. Fantastic , decided to show off his super human strength by shoving his very human arm through the storm window and seriously slicing his very human skin. After a display of super human mom-speed to stop the bleeding, Cap, Mr. Fantastic and I planned a trip to the emergency room where we were schooled in surgical knots (three to be exact). We were in and out in less than two hours and I could not have asked for a better ER experience. (THANKS M.U.S.C!)
So, my Mr. Fantastic is still fantastic and once again has discovered a way to get out of his daily duties much to the dismay of his brothers. This only leaves me with one comment. Sleep is underrated.

COCO the WONDERDOG

Coco the Wonderdog, our superhero dog, is a fierce 6lb. Chihuahua who strikes fear in the heart of our vacuum cleaner. He attacks the machine with the greatest intention of protecting his superheros from the doom that surely awaits them. After the vicious attack, he trots off proudly and is assured that he has conquered the evil one.

As Cap and I head for bed, he buries himself in the blankets ready for a long summers nap. Sometime in the middle of the night, I awoke to find my Wonderdog
staring worriedly at me with a shamed look on his mug. I picked up the unmistakable scent of partially digested Alpo and found myself pawing around the dark blankets only to find spots that used to be last evenings puppy dinner....Yep, you guessed it, he cleaned up after himself! Groaning, I gazed over at my Captain who is oblivious to the drama unfolding - lost in his dream of saving the world from tyranny. Thank goodness he was busy with other issues because had he caught wind of the problem, he would have stripped the bed and sent the Wonderdog packing.
After getting my bearings, I consoled my mutt and cleaned up his little errors and for the next couple of hours I lay there listening to them both snore the night away. Ahhh, peace at last.

Well, I've thrown myself into blogdom! Watch in utter hilarity as I navigate this feat! I find communicating through the internet most enjoyable and as of late, my primary mode of transportation. So here goes friends..........

I had a great fourth with family and friends. Cap, (henceforth my groom) and the three Superheros (my great boys) spent the holiday with aunts and uncles and cousins, OH MY! What better way to spend the holiday but visiting and learning just a little more about the ones I love. Great food, and as you can see from my photo what great food does to me in the end (hence the nap and double chin), and fireworks that evening was such a great finish to the day of reflecting on how blessed I am. My God is an awesome God and I'm so glad he watches out for me and my heros. This first post is short and sweet and a beginning to a great comic - my life.
